Endorsements - Part IV Audio, visual and data equipment and media Coverage is extended, for the scheduled limits ($200 for tapes, records, discs and other media), to electronic equipment, other than equipment designed solely for reproduction of sound, in a covered or non-owned auto. Examples of such equipment are permanently installed TVs and VCRs. Exclusion 4 of part D, Coverage for Damage to Your Auto, does not apply to this endorsement. Auto loan/lease coverage In the event of a covered total loss to the covered auto shown in the schedule, any unpaid amount due on a lease or loan for the covered auto less any amount paid under part D, Coverage for Damage to Your Auto, and certain other charges, will be paid. Coverage for damage to your auto Sometimes referred to as stated amount coverage, this endorsement amends the limit of liability provision in part D, Coverage for Damage to Your Auto. The maximum paid in event of a loss is the lesser of the amount shown in the schedule or declarations, actual cash value, or the amount necessary to repair or replace the property with other property of like kind and quality. The deductibles shown in the declarations apply. Covered property coverage Coverage is extended to loss to awnings, cabanas, and equipment designed to create additional living facilities for covered autos listed in the schedule. Payment is limited to the lesser of the amount shown in the schedule or declarations, the actual cash value of the stolen or damaged property, or the amount necessary to repair or replace the property with like kind and quality. Payment is subject to a deductible. Business or office equipment and sales samples or exhibition property are not covered. Customizing equipment coverage Coverage is provided, for described pickups or vans, on customizing equipment such as special carpeting or furniture in or on the vehicle. The deductibles shown in the declarations apply. Increased limits transportation expenses coverage When there is a loss to a covered or non-owned auto, coverage for transportation expenses provided under part D, Coverage for Damage to Your Auto, is increased to $30 per day to a maximum of $900. Mexico coverage All personal auto coverages are extended to apply to accidents occurring in Mexico within 25 miles of the United States border while on a trip in Mexico of 10 days or less. The endorsement applies only if liability insurance from a licensed Mexican insurance company is in effect. All coverages under the endorsement are excess over any other similar coverage and the liability coverage applies only if the original suit for damages is brought in the United States and does not involve a Mexican citizen or resident. There is no Mexican coverage for anyone occupying an auto other than the covered auto and no coverage for a citizen or resident of Mexico except for damage to the covered auto. Repairs to the covered auto made in Mexico are not covered unless the auto cannot be driven in its damaged condition. Miscellaneous type vehicles The Personal Auto Policy is adapted to cover one or more "miscellaneous type vehicles," defined as a motor home, motorcycle or similar type vehicle, all terrain vehicle, dune buggy, or golf cart. All of the PAP coverages are modified by the endorsement to adapt them to apply to these kinds of vehicles. Named non-owner coverage This endorsement is used for persons who do not own an auto but wish to have their own protection while driving non-owned vehicles. Some companies require this coverage in order to provide a personal umbrella policy. Single limit or split limit liability and Uninsured Motorists coverage, and medical payments coverage are available. The endorsement also applies for 30 days to a newly acquired vehicle. Several of the personal auto policy provisions are modified to adapt the coverage to apply to a non-owner, among them the elimination of reference to family members in the definition of insured. To cover family members, it is necessary that each be individually named in the endorsement schedule. Snowmobile coverage This endorsement extends the PAP to cover snowmobiles described in the schedule of the endorsement. The same coverages offered under the PAP -- liability, medical payments, uninsured motorists, and damage to your auto are provided. Coverage is excluded under all four parts for operating in, preparing for, or practicing for any racing or speed contest. Liability coverage for any insured for bodily injury to any insured while occupying or while being towed by the described snowmobile may be purchased (the passenger hazard). Split liability limits The single limit for part A- Liability Coverage, is amended to separate per person and per accident bodily injury limit and per accident property damage limit. Tapes, records or other devices (Arizona only) This endorsement covers direct and accidental loss to tapes, records or other devices used with sound reproduction equipment. There is a $200 limit per occurrence. At the time of the loss the tapes, records or other devices must be the property of the insured or a family member, and must be in a covered auto. Towing and labor costs coverage Towing costs and the cost of labor performed at the place of disablement for covered and non-owned autos are covered up to the limit shown on the endorsement for scheduled covered autos. Underinsured Motorists coverage Coverage applies up to the limit stated in the schedule (usually the same as the part C, Uninsured Motorists limit) for bodily injury claims against an owner or operator of an underinsured vehicle -- a vehicle insured for at least the minimum liability limit required by the financial responsibility law but less than the limit of this coverage. The endorsement closely parallels the Uninsured Motorists coverage in other respects. |
