Course introduction

Course objective: To learn about Employment Practices Liability Insurance.

Many insureds (in this case, employers) do not believe they have an exposure to employment practices liability. Little do they know. Discrimination claims are on the rise. The premium for this kind of coverage is not cheap, but the damages from a lawsuit are much worse.

As an agent, you should help the insureds manage their risk by educating them as to their exposures. This may entail providing a quote, rather than simply offering to obtain a quote if they request one.

In this course, you will learn about Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI) through the following topics:
  • EEOC areas of enforcement
  • Contract labor (professional employer organizations)
  • EPLI coverage issues
